Mumbai, April 5 - Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary has turned into a surprising success story at the Indian box office, holding its ground despite facing stiff competition from the mega blockbuster Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. The Hollywood sci-fi space film, which had to delay its release to avoid a direct clash, is now reaping the benefits of strong word-of-mouth.

The film opened on a decent note in India with around 2.70 crore gross on Day 1 but showed healthy growth over the opening weekend, collecting over 17 crore in its first four days. Globally, the film is already a major success, crossing $400 million through the second weekend. This worldwide momentum has further boosted its perception in India, helping it sustain interest despite the overwhelming presence of local competition.
