Mumbai, April 29 - In a fresh turn of events at the box office, director David Dhawan's upcoming romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, has moved back to its earlier release strategy after Yash's Toxic underwent scheduling changes.

Earlier this year, the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai had postponed the film from June 5 to June 12, 2026, and then moved up to May 22, to avoid a direct box office clash with Toxic, which was shifted to June 4. The decision was taken to maintain a healthy release window and avoid unnecessary competition, as producers emphasised the importance of mutual support within the industry.

However, with Toxic now confirmed to arrive at a later date, the release calendar has opened up again. This has encouraged the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to go back to their original strategy, as they have now rescheduled the movie to its original date, June 5, 2026.
