Mumbai, March 1 - Ranveer Singh-fronted spy action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge seems to have hit the paddle when it comes to the theatrical runtime. The film continues to grab attention as one of the most ambitious Indian films of recent times, and the latest update has raised eyebrows in the trade with an unthinkable runtime.

According to fresh reports, the film has now been listed with a significantly longer runtime in overseas markets, pushing it close to the four-hour mark. It is said that Dhurandhar 2 is mentioned with a runtime of 3 hours and 49 minutes, which is notably higher than the earlier reported duration of around 3 hours and 40 minutes.

If this listing remains unchanged at the time of release, the film will rank as the longest in recent history and among the longest Indian films made in the 21st century. The extended duration hints at a larger-than-life narrative, with the makers seemingly opting for an expansive storytelling approach rather than trimming the film for commercial convenience.

For a contemporary action thriller franchise, such a runtime is rare and underlines the scale and confidence backing the sequel. After LOC: Kargil (2003), which remains the benchmark at approximately 4 hours 15 minutes, Dhurandhar 2 is reportedly the second-longest Indian film this century. Lagaan is reportedly third with 3 hours and 44 minutes.

While the nearly four-hour length could pose challenges for exhibitors given limited daily showtimes, it also strengthens the film's positioning as a grand theatrical experience. With anticipation already sky-high, the runtime itself has now become a major talking point around Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled to release on March 19 in multiple languages.
