Mumbai, May 15 - Mounting a big-budget war film is among the toughest challenges in filmmaking. But trade experts say a great spectacle alone no longer guarantees box office success.

Today's audiences want authenticity, emotion, and characters they can connect with beyond the battlefield. Over the span of six months, there were some major war films that were released in theatres. The audience verdict, though, was evident with Border 2 emerging as a big blockbuster and eventually becoming the most successful war film of recent times with 450 crores worldwide gross collection.

Many within the trade are now crediting the Duttas for once again redefining the genre they mastered decades ago.
