Mumbai, April 2 - In a major development, the makers have officially announced a revised release plan for her upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar. The decision comes in light of the phenomenal box office performance of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Priyadarshan's directorial film will now be released on April 17, a week after the earlier release date, and will also have paid previews starting from 16th April 2026 at 9 PM onwards, allowing both films to enjoy their respective theatrical space.

The makers revealed that the decision was taken after a collective discussion with distributors and exhibitors. With Dhurandhar: The Revenge performing exceptionally well at the box office, the shift aims to ensure that both films receive the attention, screens, and audience footfall they deserve.

Instead of a traditional release clash, Bhooth Bangla will now opt for a staggered entry with paid previews, beginning April 16 night. This strategy is slowly becoming popular in recent times, helping films build early word-of-mouth while easing box office pressure.
