Mumbai, April 8 - Director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar has turned into a remarkable success story digitally, as the film has now crossed the 30 million views milestone on Netflix globally. After a historic theatrical run of over 1300 crores, the Ranveer Singh starrer has continued to attract audiences worldwide, proving the strength of its content and franchise appeal.
Dhurandhar was originally released on December 5, 2025, and became a massive box office success. After creating history at the ticket window, the spy action thriller was made available on Netflix, after an 8-week theatrical run. It took the streamer by storm and shattered viewership records.
A Strong Start Sets The Tone
Dhurandhar opened to an impressive 7.6 million views in its first week, immediately grabbing the top spot on global charts. Interestingly, the film didn't slow down in its second week—instead, it grew further to 8.2 million views, indicating strong word-of-mouth and repeat value among viewers.
This kind of upward trend in the second week is rare for streaming releases, especially after a huge box office run, and highlights the film's strong connect with audiences across markets.
Mid-Run Dip Was Expected
Like most OTT releases, Dhurandhar witnessed a gradual decline in viewership after its initial peak. From Week 3 onwards, numbers dropped to 2.9 million, followed by a steady slide through the subsequent weeks. While the drop may seem significant, the film managed to stay consistently within the platform's trending list, showcasing sustained interest.
Sequel Effect Sparks A Comeback
The real twist in Dhurandhar's OTT journey came later. With the buzz surrounding Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, the original film witnessed a surprising resurgence. In Week 8, when Dhurandhar 2 hit the big screens, viewership of the first film jumped to 2.3 million, followed by an even stronger 3 million in Week 9, and 1.8 million in the 10th week.
This late surge played a crucial role in pushing the film past the 30 million total views mark, a rare achievement for an Indian film on streaming. Dhurandhar maintained a Top 10 presence for ten consecutive weeks, even trending in multiple countries during its run. The film has now entered the league of the most-watched Indian titles on Netflix, outperforming several recent big-ticket releases.
