After Career Best Blockbuster Karuppu, Suriya's Next Vishwanath And Sons Gets A Release Date

The buzz surrounding Suriya's upcoming projects is reaching a new high, especially after the massive success of his recent release Karuppu. While fans are still celebrating the god mode performance of Karuppu at the box office, a fresh update regarding his next film, Vishwanath and Sons, has surfaced. According to a report by Aakashavaani, this highly anticipated family drama and sports-romance is likely to hit theatres on August 14, 2026.

Vishwanath and Sons is not a typical sports drama. It features an intriguing age-gap romance that navigates the relationship between a middle-aged man and a woman half his age. Suriya plays the role of Sanjay Vishwanath, a 40-year-old elite international pistol-shooting champion who is striving to reach the top of his sport. Interestingly, the name Sanjay is a nostalgic nod to his iconic character Sanjay Ramasamy from the 2005 blockbuster Ghajini, which has already sparked a lot of curiosity among fans.

The film marks the official Tamil directorial debut of Venky Atluri, who is fresh off the success of Lucky Baskhar and Vaathi. Starring alongside Suriya is Mamitha Baiju, who plays a 20-year-old named Maddy. The story begins with a mentor-student dynamic that eventually evolves into a complex romance which Sanjay's character continuously resists.
