Mumbai, March 17 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is nearing the completion of the shoot of director Sidharth Anand's action thriller, King, which is scheduled to release on Christmas 2026. Simultaneously, he has been listening to scripts for his next films.

Recently, it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan was in talks with Farah Khan for the sequel to Main Hoon Na. It was reportedly being eyed as his immediate next, but a twist has arrived. According to the report by Pinkvilla, the superstar has been offered a romantic drama film.

It is said that King Khan has been approached for a big-budget, old-school, mature romantic drama, an offer that will take even industry insiders by surprise. The script, which has come out of nowhere, has reportedly struck a chord with Shah Rukh Khan and is now being seriously considered as his next project.

The script reportedly offers Shah Rukh Khan to play an age-appropriate narrative set in a more mature world of love, layered with emotional depth and drama. He has really liked the idea and is excited, not just for this romantic drama, but also for Farah Khan's directorial. A final decision is expected by June.

While plans may change once he hears the final narration, Shah Rukh Khan is keen to work outside of action films, and this romantic drama script is said to have come at the right time.
