Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 Officially Postponed As Makers Announce A New Release Date

Kochi, March 23 – The makers of Drishyam 3 have officially postponed the release of the much-anticipated Malayalam crime thriller starring Mohanlal. The film, which was initially scheduled to hit cinemas in early April 2026, will now arrive on May 21, 2026.

The third instalment of the hugely successful franchise was originally planned for an April 2 release. However, the team has now opted for a revised date to ensure a stronger and more stable release window, especially in the overseas markets where the franchise commands a massive following.

The postponement is a strategic move, as the Middle East, a key territory for Malayalam films, is currently facing uncertain conditions due to war, prompting the makers to avoid any potential impact on the film's box office performance. By shifting to May 21, the team is aiming to maximise the film's global reach and revenue potential.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Drishyam series is widely regarded as one of Indian cinema's finest thriller franchises. The story revolves around Georgekutty, portrayed by Mohanlal, a seemingly ordinary man whose intelligence and presence of mind help him stay one step ahead of the law.
